This was a truly incredible experience. I recently took the 101 course with Captain Jason Cox and would recommend Myrtle Beach Sailing School to anyone who is interested. Jason was unbelievably kind, respectful, easy going, thorough and most importantly had the patience of a saint making learning how to sail easy and possible. I'm excited to take more of their sailing courses, and check out the other opportunities they offer in the future!
We started with 101 and progressed thru 103 and 104. The first question Jason asked at the start of 101 foreshadowed the entire experience: "What are you looking to get from this experience?" Jason tailored the approach to each course, covering all the materials in alignment with our goals. Jason did his 'classroom' work on the trip from the marina along the intercoastal waterway (ICW) to the ocean. He took advantage of the ICW and more generally the local environment beautifully -- using many moments as teaching opportunities. Jason's style is welcoming, calming (there can be brief exciting moments at sea and while docking), and always full of learning. Did I mention he always provided good snacks, drinks, and lunches! We took advantage of the 'live-aboard' option -- sure this saved on hotel bills, but it really gave a nice sense of life on a boat. We've now sailed both the Morgan and the Beneteau, in near dead calm and when the winds and seas picked up. The range of experiences has been great. I feel fortunate to have had Jason as an instructor. I've been an academic for three decades -- Jason is an excellent teacher, with great interpersonal skills, and one for whom I have no hesitation giving my highest recommendation.
We had the pleasure of sailing with Jason Cox on the Bohemian Blue. It was an amazing experience! The weather was perfect and we are able to enjoy a sail out on the ocean. Jason was very informative, professional and made sure we were enjoying our evening. I would highly recommend and definitely will be a returning client!
My wife and I have always had the passion to learn to sail, so we made the decision to move forward! We combined ASA courses 101-103 to complete in a weeks time. Not fully knowing what to expect, we were really impressed with our instructor Capt Jason. Capt Jason is very knowledgeable & made our lesson plan enjoyable while detailing the importance of the knowledge base we were absorbing. We spent the whole week on the water, understanding the safety and joys of life on the water. We are looking forward to our next 104 course! I highly recommend Capt Jason for your instruction or charter!
Thanks again Jason! We look forward to the spring!

I was in town for some corporate meetings and a few colleagues and I decided to go sailing one afternoon. We chose the Sunset Sailing Charter aboard the Bohemian Blue. Jason and Jason were super friendly and professional. We had perfect weather. And the sun setting over the mainland as we came back into the inlet was picture perfect. We had a very enjoyable time and I highly recommend Captain Jason and his business.
We had a great time sailing with you and your group and hope you guys can make it again next year! Thanks for choosing us!
Capt Jason and his 1st mate Jason was very accomidating. They made sure we had the best time possible. I especially liked him going over all safety concerns that could arise and what to do. They were great with answering any questions we had while on our sail. Everyone had a great time and it was the highlight of our trip. My family would definitely recommend Island Song for anyone wanting to take a Sunset sail or any sail for that matter. We will always be a customer everytime we come back down that way on vacation.
Thank you both so much for a great time.
We had a great time with your family also. Thanks for choosing us!
Captain Jason and his second hand Nick went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best time possible. Very friendly and helpful with any questions about the boat, surrounding area or just about anything. My new wife, the kids, and my mother all had a wonderful time. If we ever visit South Carolina again, island song will definitely be part of our trip.
And P.S. Jason's hamburgers were awesome!!!!!

By far it was the best event on our trip to myrtle beach! Capt. Jason had everything set up and ready to go and even assisted in finding a photographer to join for the trip. I would highly suggested this charter for anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic evening on the water!

What a great overall experience! Everyone was kind and helpful. Captain John was friendly, funny and entertaining to say the least. I looked at several places to charter a boat and no matter what experience you are looking for, Island Song has the best rates. Will definitely be doing this again in some capacity. Might go for an all day or all night excursion next time!!

Captain Jason was awesome - the day of our cruise was cold and overcast so Jason called to ask if we would like to postpone to the following day, which turned out to be a beautiful warm cloudless afternoon. We had booked a private evening cruise for our family of four.
Captain Jason was very flexible, offering us a chance to steer the boat if we wished, letting us choose to go north or south once out of the intercostal waterway and into the ocean, asking if we would like to have music playing, and so on.
Near sunset he aligned the boat for a perfect view of the sunset, and then took several group pics of us standing at the front of the boat with the sunset in the background.
We headed back through the waterway savoring the colors of the sky changing as twilight approached. We pulled into the doc in the darkness which made the evening seem magical. We could not have imagined a better sailing experience!
